Thanksgiving Ceremony: Ikpeazu, Oko Chukwu, Orji, Onwusibe, Others Felicitate with Ike Anyatonwu

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sent a message of goodwill to felicitate with Comrade Ike Anyatonwu as he hosts a special thanksgiving ceremony to appreciate God for saving his life from a ghastly auto accident.

It would be recalled that on October 19, 2019, Comrade Anyatonwu, a former Abia State Commissioner for Youth Development, was involved in a fatal auto accident that claimed the lives of 6 persons on the spot, near Umuikaa Junction along the Port Harcourt-Enugu expressway.

In his goodwill message, made available to African Heritage Times, Governor Ikpeazu said that anyone who saw the impact of the accident Comrade Anyatonwu survived would not hesitate to join him in thanking God for preserving his life so that he can continue to serve humanity.

In the words of the Governor, “Your life’s journey has been one of service and impact, and labouring for the betterment of humanity. I have no doubt that the prayers of all those whose lives you have touched over the years moved God to preserve your life. I therefore urge you to continue on the path of goodness which has enabled you find mercy in the sight of God”.

In a similar development, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu and the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, have sent messages of goodwill to Comrade Ike Anyatonwu.

The Deputy Governor said in his message that Comrade Anyatonwu has every reason to glorify God for His special grace and benevolence, because he cannot claim to be better than those who lost their lives in the accident.

In his own message, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji expressed delight that Comrade Anyatonwu has towed the part of honour and gratitude to God. According to him, “this special thanksgiving ceremony is a step in the right direction and you have exhibited the spirit demonstrated by one out of the ten lepers that Jesus healed, who returned to thank Him.”

Also, in his message, the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Chief T.A. Orji (Ochendo) identified with Comrade Anyatonwu’s event and thanked God for preserving his life. Echoing the words of William Arthur Ward and the Deli Lama of Tibet respectively, Senator Orji said that “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it”, and “The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness”.

On his part, Oke Nze Ginger Onwusibe, Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, in his message described Comrade Ike Anyatonwu as a “testimony and a miraculous survivor; a strong and determined person in whose life God has made a name for Himself”.

Furthermore, Chief Gabriel Onyendilefu, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, described Comrade Anatonwu as “God’s special work in progress”, urging him to endeavour always to live a life that would glorify God and bless humanity.

Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the event, Engr. Chima Uwaoma who spoke to African Heritage Times, informed that other notable personalities who have identified with Comrade Anyatonwu’s thanksgiving and expressed joyful sentiments in their goodwill messages include the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai; Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Dr. Comos Ndukwe; Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze J.N. Nwabeke; Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Alwell Asiforo Okere; Director-General, Abia State Mass Mobilization Agency, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu; Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (The Presidency), Engr.
