The Abia State Tourism and Entertainment Conference (ASTEC 2021) has been slated to hold on March 26, 2021 at Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia.
ASTEC 2021 is a Public-Private-Partnership initiative aimed at strengthening the productive capacity of tourism and entertainment industries in Abia State, connecting practitioners with global development trends and partners in tandem with Governor Okezie Ikpeazuâ€™s economic blueprint and that of the Federal Government, with emphasis on boosting the growth of non-oil economy and SMEs in general.
Organized by African Heritage Times in partnership with Abia State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, and Office of the SSA to the Governor on Strategic Development Communications, the theme of the Conference is: Beyond COVID-19: Pragmatic Strategies for Repositioning the Abia Tourism and Entertainment Industries.
The objectives of the Conference include: (1) To deepen the understanding of tourism and entertainment as organized sectors, review their performance status in Abia State and explore sustainable growth prospects. (2) To assist government in evolving evidence-based development policies for the tourism and entertainment sectors.
The Conference, being the first of its kind in Abia State, shall serve as a collective platform for Abia creative professionals as well as hospitality and tourism investors.
It is structured to hold physically and online, simultaneously, with respect to COVID-19 safety regulations.
