The Abia State Commissioner for Education, Dr. KCK Nwangwa, has led a delegation of top education ministry officials and education aides of the Governor of Abia State on a facility tour of Gregory University Uturu (GUU).
According to the university’s Principal Assistant Registrar, Media and Public Relations, Mr. Ogbonnaya Sleek Ogwo, the facility tour which held on November 18, 2020 is targeted at expansion of collaborative efforts on education development between the university and the government of Abia State.
The Commissioner also paid a courtesy call on the founder and Chancellor of Gregory University, Professor Gregory Ibe, whom he commended for his commitment to education development and poverty eradication within and outside Abia State.
Mr. Ogwo said that full details of the expanded collaboration between the University and Abia State government on education would be made public soon. He however hinted that the university and the state government are looking to upscale the GUU model of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) aimed at generating more employment for youths, as well as eradicating poverty.
