The Youth Wing of the apex Igbo Socio-Cultural Organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has frowned at the ‘Stay At Home Order’ purportedly issued by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), asking people to stay at home on Monday, 9th August, 2023.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Chika Art Adiele, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing described the IPOB purported ‘stay at home order’ as ‘misplacement of priority and an error of judgement’

The statement reads in full:

Our attention has been drawn to a purported statement issued by the IPOB for NDIGBO to” stay at home” come Monday the 9th of August 2021.

Ohaneze NDIGBO(YOUTH WING) views this as misplacement of priority and an error of judgement.

(1) NDIGBO are very industrious and business owners. we believe that shutting down our businesses will further deplete our resources and impoverish our people the more.

(2)It will negatively impact on our economy,as most of our traders rely big time on their customers who largely come from neighboring states.

(3)We are monitoring the trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,as we have constituted a solid team of legal representatives to work with other relevant stakeholders to ensure he gets fair trial.

Therefore, we call on all sons and daughters of NDIGBO worldwide to feel free to go about their lawful businesses.
